Ski holidays to Davos
With over 12000 people living in the town, there are many locals in the area. There are around 40 bars and nightclubs in the town of Davos.
There are 300 km of guaranteed slopes and 57 lifts to take you around the whole area. That’s 110 slopes, the longest of which is 12 km long, called Weissfluhgipel-Küblis. 80% of their slopes are above 2,000 meters altitude.
Ski area Davos Klosters – Six mountains
Davos Klosters is a unique combination of two cities connected by trains, buses and ski areas. The region consists of six different mountain areas that offer a wide variety of experiences for skiers and snowboarders. The majority of the slopes are above 2,000 meters, ensuring good snow conditions throughout the season.
For the experienced and novice skier
Most of the slopes in Davos Klosters are wide and long, making them perfect for intermediate and advanced skiers. For the more experienced skier, there are also several options for off-piste adventures to explore the unprotected and untouched mountainsides. There is only one regular black piste in the area, which goes down into the valley in Davos, but there is plenty of challenging terrain outside the marked routes. The off-piste areas are safe and easily accessible, making Davos a paradise for freeriders.
Beginner-friendly areas
Although Davos Klosters mainly appeals to advanced skiers, there are also areas suitable for beginners. The Madrisa area, located near Klosters, offers easy and manageable slopes that are ideal for beginners or families with small children. The area also has a play area specially designed for children.
Lifts and infrastructure
The lifts in Davos Klosters are modern and newly renovated, providing a seamless experience across the six mountain areas. You’ll find a wide range of transportation such as gondolas, gondolas, chairlifts and cable cars connecting the entire region. Perhaps the most iconic lift is the Parsenn Funicular, which quickly takes skiers from Davos-Dorf to the top of Mount Parsenn.

The six ski areas in Davos Klosters
Parsenn: The largest ski area
Parsenn is the largest area in Davos Klosters with 97 km of slopes and is perfect for intermediate and advanced skiers. From the top of Weissfluhgipfel (2,844 meters) you can enjoy stunning mountain views before heading down the long slopes that stretch all the way to Davos and Klosters. The longest run is 15 km long and has an altitude difference of 1,200 meters. On the Klosters side, you can also head down the wooded slopes that lead down to the small villages.
A special feature of Parsenn is that every Thursday morning you can access the slopes before they open to the public. This is part of the “Davos Klosters Inside” program, which requires a reservation.
Jakobshorn: Freestyle and freeride mecca
Jakobshorn is known as the place for freestyle and freeride enthusiasts. The area offers a combination of rails, kickers, a superpipe and an airbag for those who want to practice their tricks. For freeriders, there are also two great runs that lead directly back to the valley. The Jakobshorn area is easily accessible via cable car from Davos-Platz.
Rinerhorn: Family friendly and peaceful
Rinerhorn is a quiet and family-friendly area where you can enjoy the beautiful blue slopes winding through the forests. It is a less busy area compared to Parsenn and Jakobshorn, making it ideal for those looking for a relaxed ski holiday. You can reach Rinerhorn by both train and bus from Davos, or you can drive there by car.
Pischa: Nature and freeride
The Pischa area is known to be a paradise for freeriders and hikers. Here you’ll find untouched terrain where you can explore the natural mountainsides, far away from the groomed slopes. It’s also a great area for those who want to try their hand at winter hiking.
Madrisa: Family area
Madrisa is perfect for families with young children. The area offers easy slopes, play areas and a toboggan run, making it a great choice for those traveling with children. Madrisa can be reached via cable car from Klosters-Dorf.
Schatzalp: Sun and gentle slopes
The Schatzalp area is one of the sunniest areas in Davos Klosters. With its gentle blue slopes, it’s perfect for those who want to enjoy a more relaxed skiing experience. The area is also known for its tranquil atmosphere and beautiful landscapes.
How to get to Davos Klosters
Davos is located in the German-speaking part of the canton of Graubünden and is easily accessible from Zurich. Most visitors start their journey in Landquart, from where they can take either the highway or train into the Prättigau Valley to Klosters. To get to Davos, cross the Wolfgang Pass and drive along Lake Davos. The town is divided in two: Davos-Dorf, which is quieter, and Davos-Platz, where you’ll find most restaurants, bars and lively activities.
