Val d'Isere is a world-renowned ski resort with a remarkable record for snow in Europe. There are more than 300 km of pistes and large off-piste areas at altitudes of up to 3,000 meters. Every year it attracts skiers and snowboarders from different parts of the world. However, unfavorable weather conditions can ruin your skiing experience here.
We've gathered some activities for non-skiers and experiences when the weather can be bad.
Val d'Isere offers a variety of activities. Here are nine options for you to consider.
Paragliding
Val d'Isere is an ideal place for paragliders. It's also a great place to learn to fly if you've never tried it before. There are adventure companies in the area that can help you get started. You can enjoy breathtaking views while being guided by an instructor in a twin paraglider. Experienced paragliders can also take solo flights or choose to get help from a skilled instructor.
Explore the valley
You can go for a short walk or explore nearby to experience the beautiful landscapes and views. A hike through the Fornet Valley and part of the Col de l'Iseran is fairly easy and offers wild views. This pass is the highest paved mountain pass in the Alps. If you want to experience the sun and views of the valley and the city center, take the path along the Isere River, which bears the name Val d'Iseres. Along the way you'll find beautiful bridges and old refugee camps worth seeing.

It's an opportunity to relax or party with friends, family and even strangers after a day of physical and mental exertion on the mountains. You can forget everything else and just enjoy the moment.
Spa and wellness
If you don't feel like physical activity or your legs are tired, you can visit the spa and massage treatment rooms. Here you can get a special treatment, relax, read a book and enjoy the view outside. Val d'Isere has many places where you can get spa treatments. Even non-guests can access the hotel's spas in the area for a fee.
Visit the local markets
Shopping in the mountain village on Mondays is recommended. Local cheeses and sausages make great gifts. You can also buy sweets, clothes and delicious chicken from the "Chicken Man" next to the Morris Pub. On the main street of Val d'Isere there are high-quality shops open every day for gifts and ski equipment.
Val d'Isere has it all and is a must-visit area
Val d'Isere offers a range of off-piste activities when the weather prevents exploring the mountains. Skiing is considered the best adventure activity in the area, but there are many enjoyable options other than skiing.
